The following L.I.S.D. Technology Module has been created with the help of the Brazos-Sabine Connection. It has been edited to meet the needs of the Lexington I. S. D.
Please keep in mind this is our first Official L.I.S.D. Technology Module. There will be improvements and adjustments made as we progress. The L.I.S.D. Technology Module Committee has determined the need for 18 Technology Modules, with more under development.
All L.I.S.D. Teachers, Aides, and Office Personnel must complete the Applied Example by February 21, 2001 (See page 6). Provided you have completed the Applied Project you will be eligible to take advantage of the February 23, 2001 Comp Day. Other ways to have earned the Comp Day are Red Cross Training, TAG Day 1, or other days approved by Mr. Clark.
L.I.S.D. Technology would like for all members of L.I.S.D. to have completed the Applied Example and turn it in by February 21, 2001 to Curtis Patschke. To help ensure we can meet this first goal, L.I.S.D. Technology will be holding training sessions on Tuesday, February 13, 2001 and Thursday, February 15, 2001 in the Middle and Elementary School Computer Labs from 3:20 until 4:20. The training sessions will go through the first module and allow you to practice and gain the skills necessary to complete the Applied Example. There are many of you that can complete the applied example already. If you complete the applied example and pass, you do NOT have to attend the training to earn the comp day.
It is the goal of the L.I.S.D. to have all our Teachers, Aides, and Office Personnel technology literate. In order to meet this goal we will be providing Technology Modules on Tuesdays and Thursdays for the remainder of the year. You will receive a copy of the schedule during the third week of February 2001.
Incentives will be provided for the successful completion of the additional L.I.S.D. Technology Modules. Additional modules will be announced in the coming weeks.
