School Calendar Survey

The District Improvement Committee is making plans to build the school calendar for next year. Please help us determine what is important to students, parents, and teachers by completing this survey.


If school starts as early as possible in August (by state law, no earlier than the fourth Monday in August which is the 23rd), when would you prefer to end the first semester?
	Before winter break: Mid-term exams before winter break. The first semester will be substantially shorter than the second semester.
	After winter break: Mid-term exams after winter break. The first semester will be approximately the same number of student instruction days as the second semester.

Since the school year can begin no earlier than the fourth Monday in August, the last student instruction day and last teacher workday typically goes into the first week of June. For the school year to end in May, would you be willing to give up some of the traditional District holidays?
